Joaquin Martinez de Pinillos (Cathedral Catholic) posted the fastest time of the day while winning the Division 1 Varsity Boys races, clocking 9:43.9. Three other runners broke 10 minutes, but they were closer to each other than they were to Martinez de Pinillos - Tristan Silva (Paloma Valley) at 9:52.73, Samuel Boone (Mt. Carmel) at 9:52.99, and Beau Prince (Sage Creek) at 9:58.90. Prince helped his team claim the overall title, outpacing La Costa Canyon 85 - 125 with Cathedral Catholic in third at 146 points. Stefen Rasmusson (Mira Mesa) won the Division 2 varsity race in 10:15.05, helping his team claim the title in that race on a tiebreaker with Grossmont, who only had 5 runners finish the race.
La Costa Canyon went 1-2 in the Division 1 Varsity Girls race, allowing the Mavericks to cruise to the team title by a score of 43 - 115 over Cathedral Catholic. San Marcos finished in 3rd place overall with 118 points. McKenna Brown led the way for LCC with and 11:21.65 victory, followed by teammate Kristin Fahey in 11:30.15. Lexi Watkins (La Jolla Country Day) clocked 12:14.98 to take the Division 2 race, while Mira Mesa claimed their second team victory of the day.
