Gatorade just announced their players of the year for all sports. Ariana Washington of Long Beach Poly and Nate Moore of Castro Valley are this year's Track and Field winners in California.
At the recently completed California State Meet, Washington won the 100 and 200 meter races for the 3rd year in a row. Marion Jones is the only other female sprinter to achieve that feat as she did it four years in a row. Washington also anchored the 400m. relay team to victory and helped lead her teammates to another state team championship. Nate Moore of Castro Valley also was a double individual winner at the California state meet with dominating victories in the long jump and triple jump. He is the first male athlete in California to repeat as long jump and triple champion in two consecutive years. You can find his bio here as well as his press release.
