Jake Grimsman high jumped 7-3 at Stanford but missed the rest of the season with injury.

Carlos Aviles (Ventura/SS) Jr. | DT, SP - State Meet finals qualifier in both throws and one of the top dual thrower in the 2019 class in the US ... Placed 10th at State in the DT (177-00) and 12th in the SP (50-08) ... DT PR of 194-1 (for 1st at Arcadia) is CA #1 overall, US #16t overall and US #6 in the class ... SP PR of 63-05.50 (from Trabuco Hills) is CA #2 overall, US #4 in the class and US #16 overall ... two-time State Meet finalist in the DT ... SS Division 2 champion both throws: DT (178-0) & SP (58-02.50).

Kenan Christon (Madison/SD) Jr.; 100, 200 - 6th at State in both the 100 (10.67/0.7) and 200 (21.51/0.2) ... San Diego Section champion 100 (10.68/1.3) and runner-up 200 (21.20/2.5 PR) ... 3rd at SDS in the LJ after jumping PR (23-01.75/1/9) for top mark in prelims. ... 100 PR (10.58/1.8 for 1st at Mt. Carmel Invitational) is CA #8 overall and #4 in the class ... 200 PR is CA #5 overall all-conditions, #2 in the junior class (ac). 

Xavier Court (Mira Costa/SS) Sr. | 1600, 3200 - 3rd at State 3200 (8:59.56 PR) ... bronze medal time at State is CA #5 ... SS Masters champion (9:01.78) and SS Division 1 champion (9:04.49) for 3200 ... 1600 PR of 4:10.94 (for 2nd at Mt. SAC) is CA #4 ... won 1600 at Azusa MOC (4:14.38). Next stop: Cal.

Jeff Duensing (Esperanza/SS) So. | DT, SP - Runner-up at State in the shot put (61-06.75; CA #3 overall, US #3 in the sophomore class) ...  won SP title at SS Division 3 (61-02.50) and SS Masters (60-01.75) ... DT champion at SS D3 (182-7 PR is CA #11 overall and US #4 in the class).

Alex Enos (St. Ignatius/CC) Sr. | LJ - Runner-up at State in the long jump (24-00.50/1.9) ... wind-legal PR 24-02.50/0.9 (at KBell) is US #10 ... all-conditions PR 25-0 (at CCS Top 8) is CA #2, US #5 ... had four meets where he went 24-feet or farther.

Josh Farmer (Rancho Bernardo/SD) Sr. | 300H, Decathlon - 5th at State in the 300H (38.02) ... 300H PR of 37.81 (in winning the San Diego Section title) is CA #9 ... Decathlon winner at the Arcadia Multis with 6,963 points, the third-most in CA history. Next stop: Colorado.

Jake Grimsman (Vista del Lago/SJ) Sr. | HJ - CA #1t with a best of 7-3 at Stanford before injury ended his season at the end of March ... had three meets with jumps of 7-feet or higher before injury ... two-time State Meet qualifier and runner-up to Sean Lee as a junior (6-9) ... returned post-CIF season to jump 6-10 to win at Golden West and also went 6-10 at USATF Junior Outdoor. Next stop: BYU

Justin Hazell (El Camino Real/LA) Sr. | 3200 - 2nd at State with a 8:57.90 season best, which ranks CA #4, US #15 in the senior class ... battled winner Matt Strangio down the stretch before the sophomore pulled away at the end ...  three-time State Meet qualifier and two-time medalist. Next stop: Portland.

Namir Hemphill (Upland/SS) So. | 200, 400, TJ  - Ranks CA #1 in the sophomore class in the 200, 400 and TJ ... all-conditions best TJ of 48-10 is CA #5 overall, and US #3 in the class ... runner-up at SS D2 finals in the TJ (45-7.75) and was 4th at SS Masters (46-04.25) to qualify for State ... jumped 45-10 for 13th at State prelims, missing the qualifying 12th spot by 2.25 inches ... league champion in the 200m (21.67/3.7) and 7th at the D2 final ... runner-up at Mt. SAC in the 400 (49.12; CA #4).

Daylon Hicks (Clayton Valley/NC) Jr. | HJ - Runner-up to two-time champion Sean Lee at State (6-10, CA #4t overall) ... clearance equalled PR from Mt. SAC Relays (where he was also 2nd to Lee) ... North Coast MOC Champion (6-8) ... one of only two juniors in CA to clear 6-10 ... two-time State Meet medalist (5th as a sophomore).

Riley Hunt (Simi Valley/SS) Jr. | 110H, 300H - 3rd at State in the 110H (14.09/1.0; CA #1 wind-legal, #2 all-conditions ... CA #6 overall ... SS Masters champion (14.18/0.8) ... 300H PR 38.82 from the SS Divisional prelims is CA #8.

Aiden Jackman (Clayton Valley/NC) Sr. | 110H, 300H - One of the top dual hurdlers in the US had his season disrupted by injury ...110 hurdles PR of 13.98 (for 2nd at Arcadia) is CA #3t ... ran 14.03 to win at Stanford ... 300H PR of 37.47 (also for 2nd at Arcadia) is CA #3 ... won the 400H at Stanford (52.85).

Matthew Okonkwo (Murrieta Mesa/SS) Sr., 400, Relays - 4th at State in the 400 (47.52) ... PR of 47.47 to win SS Masters is CA #6 ... SS Division 2 champion (48.34) ... member of 4x100 (5th in 41.51) and 4x400 relay teams that helped Murrieta Mesa to the overall team championship at State... 4x400 team ran US #1 3:10.86 to clinch the title.

Reyte Rash (ML King/SS) Jr. | 300H - Runner-up to Roberson in the 300H at State (37.17; CA #2,  US #9) ... Ran 110H PR of 14.49 (at State Prelims) is CA #6 ... 300H champion at SS Division 1 (37.65) and SS Masters (37.50) ... runner-up at Mt. SAC (38.26) ... had more than a two-second drop from his sophomore year PR to his State silver medal-winning PR.

Jaden Rosenthal (High Tech SD/SD) Sr. | 1600 - Runner-up at State with PR of 4:09.63 (CA #2, US #14 in the class) ... Strong kick at the end of the final nearly caught winner Liam Anderson (4:09.31) ... Ran previous PR of 4:11.88 to win SDS title.

Solomon Strader (Trinity Classical/SS) So. | 200, 400 - PR of 47.49 for 2nd at the SS Masters Meet is CA #1 and US #6 in the class and CA #7 overall ... won SS Division 4 titles in the 200 (21.96 PR) and 400 and qualified for State in both ... ran 48.21 for 6th in 400 qualifying but did not compete in his 200 preliminary and subsequently was scratched from the 400 final.

Sam Vandorpe (Mater Dei/SS) Sr. | 800 - 3rd at State in the 800 with a PR of 1:51.07 (CA #3, US #13 in the class) ... SS Division 2 champion (1:52.36) ... SS Masters champion (1:51.44) ... runner-up at Mt. SAC (1:53.21) and 4th at Arcadia (1:54.17).

Kevin Ward (San Dieguito Academy/SD) Sr. | PV - 2nd at State (15-10) ... PR 16-5 to win SDS title is CA #2, US #18 in the class ... two-time State Meet finalist ... two-time SDS winner ... other lifetime clearance of 16-plus was at the Falcon Relays in March (16-1). 

Jake Woods (Clovis/CS) Sr. | 110H, 300H - The only double hurdles medalist at the State Meet ... 4th in the 300H (37.57) ... 5th in the 110H (14.22/1.0) ... 110H PR 14.11 (from State Prelims) is CA #7 ... 300H PR of 37.56 (from Central Section Finals) is CA #6 (#4 in the class for both) ... two-time State qualifier and CS champion for 300H.

Juan Zarate-Sanchez (Davis Senior/SJ) Jr. | 800 - 5th at State in the 800m (1:52.02 PR) ... time at State is ranked in the junior class as CA #1 and US #9, also CA #5 overall ... Sac-Joaquin Masters champion (1:53.33) ... also ran sub-1:53 in winning at Sacramento MOC (1:52.78).
