First Round: VOTE for the Best Overall Program in CA History!
This week we're conducting a "poll tournament" to determine the people's choice for the best combined boys and girls program ever in California. In the wake of Great Oak's unprecedented 4th consecutive sweep of the boys and girls Division 1 team titles, we have been wondering if they now qualify as the all-time greatest! We have our opinions (and let's just say that our staff is not in complete agreement on the subject), but we also want to know what YOU think.
To determine the contenders, we looked at the total number of state championships each school has won since the state meet was instituted in 1987 (refer to the first page of the article for more details on the criteria). Then, we seeded them from 1 to 9. and we have set up a bracket-style tournament in which we will pit We've given Saugus a bye in the first round of this competition, as the Centurion girls won our 2016 poll for the best single-gender program in Golden State history.
