One of the few sections that has no divisional component as part of it's state qualifying process is the Central Coast Section (Malcolm Slaney photo). The final will take place this Friday at Gilroy HS with the field events starting at 4pm while the running events start at 6pm. The weather promises to be just a bit cooler than last Saturday when a lot of the athletes went into survival mode while trying to qualify for the final.
In the next few pages, I will shine a light to the favorites, the leading contenders and the possible underdogs that could surprise the field.
