As part of MileSplitCA's detailed walk-up to the 2018 CIF Track & Field season, one of the objectives is to interview as many of the elite and returning athletes as we are able to catch up with to provide a feature video for our premium subscribers.
In this feature, we profile Brentwood Heritage High 800-meter runner Jett Charvet, the CIF-State 2017 champion.
In a race that featured three juniors all running sub-1:52 -- and three others running sub-1:53 -- Charvet's final kick to a 1:51.07 PR beat fellow 2018s, San Jose Bellermine's Alex Scales (1:51.56) and Bakersfield Highland's Moises Medrano (1:51.67).
In this feature video, among the topics, Charvet talks about the story behind his name, his South American training hideaway, preparing to defend his 800m title and why he choose UCLA.
Follow along as we continue to populate this Track & Field Preview Interview Series with new profiles.
