Friday, May 23, 2025
TIME:
3:30pm - Girls Middle School Race (2 miles)
4:30pm - Boys Middle School Race (2 miles)
LOCATION:
Santiago Canyon College
8045 E. Chapman Avenue
Orange, CA 92869
PARKING:
The upper parking lot next to the gym (Parking Lot #7) will be closed for the safety of the participating student-athletes since the course passes through that parking lot. There will be no ticketing (i.e., Free Parking) in Parking Lot #6 only on the day of the cross country meet. There is normally a $2.00 daily vehicle parking fee at the college which will still be enforced in all other parking lots on the SCC Campus. School Buses should enter the campus from the 2nd traffic light entrance off Chapman Avenue (at the Albertsons Shopping Center) and park along the curb at the end of that entrance roadway. The bus parking location is adjacent to a large stairway that heads directly up to the SCC Athletic Fields where the races will start and end.
COURSE:
Course Map will be emailed to the participating schools. The course will start & end at the top of the college campus on the main Soccer Field. The race will start with roughly a quarter mile downhill and will finish with that same quarter mile going back uphill to the soccer field. The majority of the course will be run on roadway and pavement sidewalks, but there will be a few small stretches of dirt pathways mixed in. There are multiple hills/inclines that will be navigated along the course route. The course will utilize a large portion of the SCC campus and is not particularly spectator friendly. Coaches may want to bring a bicycle if they want to get around to different sections of the course during each race.
