Location: Hooker Oak Recreation Area, Chico CA
Course: Fast racing on the mostly flat course at Hooker Oak Park in Chico, CA.
The course, following much of the same trails as Chico State's home course, winds around the Hooker Oak Recreation Area and offers a wonderful spectator experience. Run mostly on trails, grass fields, and less than a half mile of blacktop, the runners can be seen for up to half the race with very little spectator movement.
Another unique aspect of the invitational is an unusual format in the Varsity races. We will have two Varsity Races in each division: a separate race for runners 4-7 followed by a race for runners 1-3 on each team. This should prove to provide a more competitive run for those athletes who normally run mid-pack as they can race for the win in their respective divisions.
We have added a middle school division and will feature a race for girls and a race for boys. There is no entry fee to run in the middle school division.
