Sanger Metric Classic

Ten Lane Track, Fully Auto Timing, Scoreboard Results, Full Concession
Three divisions will be offered (Varsity Girls, Frosh/Soph Boys, Varsity Boys). Invitations will be extended to the top: Ten (10) in lane events +3 alternates; Fourteen (16) in field events; no more than Thirty (30) in distance races. Each team will be allowed 3 entries per event (except in the 1600, 3200, and pole vault, which will receive 4). All marks must be wind legal efforts from the 2020 season.
Welcome and thank you for your interest in the 63rd running of the Sanger Metric Classic.
From 1958 - 1977, the meet now known as The Metric was called the Sanger Invitational, but no matter the name, it continues to be one of the highest quality track and field experiences for participants. Sanger High School and Dave Dodson made this one of, if not, the first high school invitational in California to use metric race distances. Initially, this was only done for the 72 and 76 Olympic years, but has been a standard of the meet since 76. As the meet stands today, it continues to be the premiere late season invitational of the Central Section. If an athlete and/or team places at the Sanger Metric, they are one to watch at the Masters Meet and a potential state qualifier. Just getting into the meet should validate for a coach and athlete that their season up to this point has been successful. Again, we are excited to host and welcome you to another installment of The Metric.

Team trophies in 1st 3rd.
Plaque awarded to outstanding track and outstanding field athletes in Varsity divisions.
8 Places (10, 8, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1)
Composite times are only allowed for the Sprint Medley Relay (2, 2, 4, 8).
3/16 pyramid required. Proper spikes must be in before entrance into the stadium.
$10 per athlete, $200 maximum per gender (should be paid at the athlete entrance) Make Check Payable to Sanger Track and Field
