This week, we'll conduct a special poll for the CIF State Track and Field Championships Performer of the Meet.
This poll will close on Sunday, June 8th at noon PST.
Naiaja Sizemore (Vanden): The junior from Vanden made a statement with a 100m and 200m sweep at the CIF State Championships. Naiaja Sizemore ran 11.33 in the 100m (US No.10) and then 23.18 in the 200m (U.S. No.7).
Makenna Herbst (Carlsbad): In the 800m, Makenna Herbest dominated the field from the start to secure the second fastest time in California history. Herbest also anchored Carlsbad in the 4x400m relay with a 52.77 split to secure 4th place for her team.
Anisa Bowen-Fontenot (San Diego): The USC commit defended her CIF State title in the 100m hurdles and strengthened her U.S. No.1 mark with a 13.07. Anisa Bowen-Fontenot is now ranked third in California history for the 100m hurdles.
Loren Webster (Long Beach Wilson): It took a U.S. No.4 jump from Loren Webseter to defend her CIF State Championship in the Long Jump with a mark of 21-0.25.
Hanne Thomsen (Montgomery): An incredible distance double by Hanne Thomesen began with a second-place and the U.S. 3rd fastest mark in the 1600m, 4:35.69. Then Thomsen secured victory in the 3200m with the U.S. No.2 mark, 9:48.98.
Braelyn Combe (Santiago): She secured the 1600m state title with a U.S. No.2 mark of 4:35.64 and then anchored Santiago to a 4x800m relay California record. Combe's split 2:07 on the final leg also helped Santiago tie for 2nd place as a team.
Morgan Herbst (Carlsbad): At the CIF State Track and Field Championships, Morgan Herbest immortalized herself in California history by breaking the 300m hurdles CA record she set last week. Herbst ran 39.64, making her the second fastest in U.S. high school history.
Jaslene Massey (Aliso Niguel): After not even making it to CIF in 2024 for the discus, Jaslene Massey secured the discus title with a 163-9ft throw. She also placed second in the shot put.
Paige Echsner (Del Norte): The State Meet wasn't Paige's best performance, but it concluded an undefeated CIF State season. Eschner ended her CIF career with a 17-competition win streak.
