Top California Performances at 2025 Texas Relays

This year, California had a field day at the Texas Relays, with several wins, California leads, and U.S. leads. This is perfect timing as we go into April, with a lot of BIG meets coming up.

The greatest display of California's prowess was showcased in the Boys' Division II 4x400 relay, where California swept the top four places. Culver City led the way with a time of 3:10.94, followed by Servite (3:12.79), Long Beach Wilson (3:13.79), and Central (3:14.14). These four times also top California in the rankings and are all within the U.S. top ten.

We must acknowledge that Servite completed that 3:12.79 with four freshman boys! Jaelen Hunter began the boys' race with a 46.89, followed by Kamil Pelovello (48.81), Jace Wells (48.04), and Jorden Wells (48.16). Servite also set new meet and facility records in the 4x200 relay before the 4x4. Individually for Servite, Benjamin Harris triumphed in the Boys Division I 100m with a time of 10.35, followed closely by Jorden Wells in second place

Long Beach Wilson shined with California leads in the 4x800m and Sprint Medley Relay for the girls and boys. The LB Wilson girls' 4x800 relay ran 9:00.35, number seven in California history. The LB Wilson boys' SMR clocked in at 3:22.69, making it the second fastest time recorded by a Californian team in our database.

USC commit Anisa Bowen-Fontenot is the biggest story on the individual side due to her 100m hurdle win in 12.99 (3.4+), giving her the U.S. lead in all conditions. This performance would rank her third all-time in California across all conditions. Bowen-Fontenet also ran a wind-legal 13.54 in the prelims, which currently ranks her third in the nation.
