Eastlake's Jaelyn Williams clocked a career best 4:44.91 for 1,600m on Saturday at the Mt. Carmel Sun Devil Invitational, defeating reigning California Division 4 cross country champion Chiara Dailey, who followed in 4:50.50.
Williams' performance moved her up to No. 8 all-time in the sophomore class in California for the distance, slotting behind Riley Chamberlain (4:44.80), Hanne Thomsen (4:43.63), Nikki Hiltz (4:43.43), Jacqueline Duarte (4:42.58), Christian Babcock (4:41.29), Jordan Hasay (4:39.13) and Sadie Engelhardt (4:33.45).
