FRESHMAN GIRLS ALL-CA TRACK AND FIELD TEAM
* * *
The All-State MileSplit Freshman Girls All-CA Track and Field Team was selected based primarily but not exclusively on athletes who rank among the top of their class in the U.S., are CA class leaders, and were State Meet qualifiers in individual events.
These teams are selected by the editor and are subjective.
Marks are based on the MileSplit database. Stronger consideration is given to marks achieved at CIF and top invitationals over league meets and duals. Consistency at a high level may also be a factor in final selections.
Every attempt is made to represent all 14 individual events and as many of the 10 CIF sections as makes sense based on athlete performances.
This is an amazing class of girls, led by Sadie Engelhardt of Ventura (SS) who set two California state records in the distances and won two medals at the State Meet, including the 1600m title.
Hanne Thomsen of Montgomery (NC) is another 2025 girl with a State Meet title after out-sprinting NCS rival Sophia Nordenholz to the line in the 3200-meter final.
This class had seven athletes qualify for the State Finals in eight events and the group earned seven medals (top-six finish) and the two aforementioned championships in individual events.
Joelle Trepagnier of Culver City (SS) just missed a medal in her 400m final but brought home two as part of the 4x100m and 4x400m relay teams that placed sixth and third, respectively.
Two 2025 ladies earned second-place medals, Engelhardt in the 800m, and Aja Johnson of Sherman Oaks Notre Dame (SS) in the shot put.
This class is so deep with talent that we expanded the team to 21 athletes and still had difficult cuts at the end.
Athletes are listed alphabetically by last name. All references to rankings are within the class unless noted.
