Samantha McDonnell, a senior at Newbury Park, placed second in the Sweepstakes race at Woodbridge in 15:54.60, becoming just the fifth girl in meet history to run sub-16 on the 3-mile SilverLakes course (No. 3 all-time) while leading her team to the overall title
Sam, who this weekend announced her commitment to Alabama, was voted CA's Girls Cross Country Performer of the Week for the week ending Sept. 18, receiving 51.08 percent of the vote.
Vote for this week's CA Girls Cross Country Performer of the Week based on last week's meet results through Sept. 25. Voting closes Friday at 9 p.m.
