Freshman Girls MileSplitCA All-State Track and Field Team


Congratulations to all 2024 girls for their selection onto the MileSplitCA All-State Girls Freshman Track and Field Team!

Athletes were selected based on rankings within the class as well as statewide rankings regardless of class for marks achieved during the 2021 spring season. Results at section finals and major invitationals were also considered. 

Rankings and athlete PRs are based on marks in the MileSplit database. Athletes are encouraged to claim their profile and provide feedback for any missing or incorrect data. Here's how to claim athlete profiles on MileSplit.


FRESHMAN GIRLS ALL-STATE TEAM

Alyssa Alumbres (Vista Murrieta/SS) - Horizontal Jumps

CIF-Southern Section Division 1 qualifier in both the long and triple jumps. Placed fifth in the long jump (17-8.50). PRs of 37-4 and 18-4.75, both rank CA No. 3 in the class of 2024.


Ashlyn Boothby (Scotts Valley/CC) - Distances

One of only six CA girls in the Class of 2024 to run sub-5 for 1600m. Her PR of 4:59.74 ranks U.S. No. 27 in the class. Placed third in the 1600m at the CIF-Central Coast Section Finals running 5:06.59.

Tessa Buswell (Poway/SD) - Distances

CIF-San Diego Section Division 1 champion for 800m (2:14.66) and 1600m (4:56.90) and CIF-SS Open champion for both (2:15.12/5:00.45). Four-lap ranking is CA No. 19 overall and U.S. No. 18 in the class of 2024. 

Jie Yi Denise Chen (Claremont/SS) - Distances

Season bests of 4:57.40 (1600m) and 10:46.56 (3200m) ranks top 25 in the state overall and U.S. No. 21 and No. 17, respectively, in the class. Ran PR to place fifth at CIF-SS Division 1 Finals. Ran 10:50.08 for third in the 3200m at the Division 1 Finals.

London Davis (Upland/SS) - Hurdles

Season-best for 100m hurdles of 14.86 (0.0) ranks CA No. 2 in the class, No. 22 overall and equals U.S. No. 23  in the class. PR placed sixth overall at Arcadia. Also ran on winning shuttle hurdle relay team that ran CA No. 9 all-time 1:00.24.

Kelly De Jong (Maranatha Christian/SD) - Vertical Jumps

High jump best of 5-6 is equal to CA No. 4 overall and equal to U.S. No. 12 in the class. Pole vault best of 12-0 is tied for U.S. No. 6 in the class. 

Jayla Dingle (St. Mary's Academy/SS) - Sprints

Season-bests of 12.26 (1.0) for 100m and 25.19 (0.9) and 200m. Placed fourth at CIF-SS Division 4 Finals in the 100m and third in the 200m with a windy 24.79 (3.6). 

Aspen Fears (Vista Murrieta/SS) - Pole Vault

Best of 12-0 is equal to U.S. No. 6 in the class. Had four meets where she cleared 12 feet. Won titles at Southwestern League Finals, Inland Empire Championships, and Triton Invitational. 

Madison Forbes (Mater Dei/SS) - Horizontal Jumps

Long jump best of 18-9.25 ranks CA No. 15 (CA No. 12 for wind-legal marks). Triple jump PR of 38-9 ranks CA No. 10 and U.S. No. 3 in the class for all conditions marks. Wind-legal TJ of 37-10.75 (-0.7) ranks U.S. No. 5 in the class (wl). Runner-up at CIF-SS Division 2 finals in both LJ (18-6.75/1.0) and TJ with wind-legal PR.

Payton Godsey (Oaks Christian/SS) - Distances

Bests of 4:57.50 (1600m) and 10:37.15 (3200m). Four-lap PR ranks CA No. 25 overall and U.S. No. 22 in the class. Eight-lapper ranks CA No. 13 overall and U.S. No. 7 in the class. Runner-up in the 3200m at CIF-SS Division 4 Finals.

Meagan Humphries (Golden Valley/SS) - High Jump

PR of 5-6 is equal to CA No. 4 overall and equal to U.S. No. 12 in the class. Cleared 5-4 to place third at CIF-SS Division 2 Finals.

Georgia Jeanneret (JSerra/SS) - Distances

PR for 800m of 2:14.42 ranks CA No. 24 overall. PR for 1600m of 4:56.04 slots CA No. 17 overall and U.S. No. 16 in the class. Placed third in the 1600m (5:01.60) and fourth in the 800m (2:18.03) at CIF-SS Division 3 Finals.

Anna Jennings (Harvard Westlake/SS) - Hurdles/Jumps

All-conditions PR in the 100m hurdles of 14.90 (2.3) ranks CA No. 25 overall. Wind-legal best of 15.02 (0.0) ranks U.S. No. 18 in the class (wl). Long jump wl PR of 18-5 (1.3) slots CA No. 15 (wl) overall. Triple jump best of 36-0.50 (0.0) ranks U.S. No. 17 (wl) in the class. At CIF-SS Division 3 Finals, won LJ, placed second TJ (35-7/0.4), and third in the 100mH (15.16/2.2).

Giselle Kirchner (Rocklin/SJ) - Hurdles

All-conditions best 100m hurdles mark of 14.81 (3.1) ranks CA No. 19 overall and U.S. No. 19 in the class. Wind-legal 14.83 (-1.0) sits tied for U.S. No. 9 (wl) in the class. 

Kayla McBride (Ayala/SS) - Sprints

Wind-legal bests of 12.24 (1.1) for 100m and 24.82 for 200m (tied for CA No. 22 overall). Also clocked 56.81 for 400m (CA No. 23 overall). Windy 11.99 placed third in the 100m at CIF-SS Division 1 Finals.

Arielle McKenzie (La Canada/SS) - Distances

Season-best for 800m of 2:13.57 ranked CA No. 18 overall and U.S. No. 15 in the class. Time for 1600m of 4:55.06 won the title at the CIF-SS Division 3 Finals, ranks CA No. 14 overall and U.S. No. 11 in the class. Also won 800m title in 2:15.39 at CIF-SS Division 3 Finals.


Mackenzie Monson (South Torrance/SS) - Throws

Represents the throws with marks of 33-11 (shot put) and 111-3 (discus throw). Her 145-2 combined total leads the class. She was a CIF-SS Division 2 finalist in both throws and scored in each.

Juliana Roberson (Whitney/SJ) - Jumps

Closed the season with a triple jump PR of 37-6.75 for third at Golden West Invitational three days after jumping 37-6.50 to win the NorCal Championship meet. That marks CA No. 2 in the class and U.S. No. 15 in the class. Placed fifth at NorCal Champs with long jump PR of 17-6.


Tanna Schornstein (Torrey Pines/SD) - 400 Meters

Runner-up at the CIF-San Diego Division 1 Finals with a season-best of 56.21, which ranks CA No. 15 overall. Undefeated in the 400 until CIF. 

Amirah Shaheed (Madison/SD) - Sprints

Bests of 12.04 (1.5) for 100 meters and 25.52 (0.4) for 200m. Ranks CA No. 1 in the class for wind-legal 100m marks (CA No. 12 overall wl) and No. 6 in the class for wl 200m marks. Placed second to her sister (Aysha Shaheed) in the 100m at the CIF-SDS Open Championships.

Bella Turner (Liberty/CS) - 300m Hurdles

The best long hurdler in the class went 45.64 to win the CIF-Central Section South Area Regional. That ranks CA No. 25 overall. She placed fourth at the CIF-Central Section Masters in 45.93. Those are the only two sub-46 clockings in the class.
