Now fully into November, the final month of the CIF competition schedule in 2019, our review of boys and girls 3-mile and 5K weekly leaders will continue through post-CIF competition held last December.
A year go this week, while some league finals/post-season qualification meets were scattered around the state, the fastest boys on 3-mile courses primarily came out of the CIF-Southern Section Preliminary meet held on the flat Riverside City Championship Course.
Despite that, Nico Young did not have the fastest 3-mile time in the state this week a year ago. Nope! Ethan Jones, a senior at Bakersfield Liberty, ran a tick faster in winning the SSL/SWYL Championships title.
