This article highlights the results of second-round dual as part of the MileSplitCA March Madness Virtual Meet Tournament. Virtual meets are scored based solely on 2020 results using the standard dual meet scoring points format of 5-3-1 for individuals and 5-0 for relays. Athletes are scored in no more than four events (although the program that processes the meet scores does not have access to individuals in a relay). Teams are limited to three athletes per event. Stay with us for the entire tournament to see which boys and girls teams reign supreme in this virtual meet format.

No. 4 Great Oak (SS) vs. No. 13 Central (CS)

What makes Great Oak one of the most recognizable programs in the state is its consistent and unparalleled distance depth. While other areas of the Wolfpack track program had enough quality marks on the books in the brief 2020 outdoor season to overcome a first-round pairing with JSerra, the lack of an early unleashing of the distance beast would cost them here.

Central not only owned the sprints, which was predictable, but it pitched a shutout in the distances, which was not.

Junior Xavier Worthy, sophomore Cameron Tarver and senior Brice Williams led a 24-3 advantage for Central in the sprints, Georgetown-bound senior Abel Teffra led a 27-0 advantage in the distances, and junior Devin Kelly had the top marks in the long jump and triple jump.

Jack Wright and Kyle Yonker topped the pole vault and Jack's twin James Wright had the best mark in both of the throws for Great Oak.

Central will continue to be a challenge for teams in the sprints, especially in the 200m where Worthy's 22.05 (-1.1) from the Sanger Spring Classic ranks CA No. 5 and Tarver's 22.35 (-0.6) ranks CA No. 16.
