SPRINTS

AYSHA SHAHEED | San Diego Madison/SD/So. | 100/200 | Shaheed placed fourth at the State Meet in the 100m (11.76/1.6) and fifth in the 200m (24.17/1.6). She is the state leader in the class in both sprints. Shaheed (whose first name is pronounced 'Asia') ran a 100m PR of 11.57 that ranks U.S. No. 6 in the class for all-conditions. Her 24.16 PR for 200m ranks U.S. No. 17 for all-conditions. MileSplitCA All-Sophomore first team.

IMAN BABINEAUX | Quartz Hill/SS/Jr. | 400 | Babineaux placed fourth in the 400m at the State Meet with a time of 54.68. She placed second at the Southern Section Masters Meet in a PR of 54.21 that ranks CA No. 1 and U.S. No. 9 in the class and CA No. 3 regardless of class. She is the SS Division 1 champion (54.81). MileSplitCA All-Junior first team.
TESSA GREEN | Santa Margarita Catholic/SS/Sr. |100/Relays | Green placed sixth at State in the 100m with a wind-legal PR of 11.78. That time ranks CA No. 5 in the class for wind-legal marks. Green ran anchor on the 4x100 relay team that reached the State Meet final and finished seventh (47.64). MileSplitCA All-Senior second team.

CEONNA PIPION | Folsom Vista del Lago/SJ/Jr. | 200/400 | Pipion placed third at the State Meet in the 400m (54.46) and ninth in the 200m (24.44/1.6). She won the Sac-Joaquin Section Meet of Champions title in the 400m (56.72) and placed second in the 200m (25.41/-0.8). Her 400m PR ranks CA No. 2 and is tied for U.S. No. 14 in the class. MileSplitCA All-Junior first team.


DISTANCES

MIA BARNETT | Sun Valley Village Christian/SS/So. | 1600/3200 | Barnett medaled in the 1600m at the State Meet for the second year in a row, placing fourth in a PR time of 4:46.12. That time ranks CA No. 3 in the sophomore class and No. 5 overall. It also ranks U.S. No. 4 in the class and No. 14 overall. Her 3200 PR of 10:22.51 for second at the APU Distance Meet of Champions is No. 1 in the class, No. 7 overall, and No. 8 U.S. in the class. Barnett doubled back in the 3200 at the State Meet and placed ninth (10:35.21). At the Southern Section Division 4 finals, she swept the 1600 (4:47.30) and 3200 (10:33.95). MileSplitCA All-Sophomore first team.

RILEY CHAMBERLAIN | Loomis Del Oro/SJ/Fr. | 3200 | Chamberlain placed fourth at the State Meet in the 3200 in 10:21.31. That time ranks U.S. No. 1 in the class and CA No. 6 overall. She is the Sac-Joaquin Section Masters champion for 3200 meters (10:41.98) and also won the 3200 at the SJS Division 1 Finals (10:27.92). MileSplitCA All-Freshman first team.

FATIMA CORTES | Temecula Great Oak/SS/Sr. | 800/1600 | Cortes placed fifth at State in the 1600 (4:49.71) and 11th in the 800 (2:14.54). She placed second at the Southern Section Masters Meet with PRs in both the 800 (2:11.40) and 1600 (4:45.41). Cortes, headed to Cal, ranks top-nine in all three distance races in the senior class, CA No. 5 for 800, No. 2 for 1600 and No. 9 for 3200 (10:40.63, which she ran as part of a sweep of the three distance races at the Southwestern League Finals).  MileSplitCA All-Senior first team.

CARLIE DOROSTKAR | San Diego Canyon Crest Academy/SD/Jr. | 1600/3200 | Dorostkar placed sixth at the State Meet in the 3200 (10:26.15). That time ranks CA No. 2 in the junior class. She placed second in 3200m at the San Diego Section Division 1 Finals, running 10:34.80, behind eventual State champion Kristin Fahy. Dorostkar's 1600m PR of 4:58.01 ranks CA No. 4 in the class. MileSplitCA All-Junior first team.

ISABELLA FAURIA | Sacramento St. Francis/SJ/Jr. | 800/1600 | Fauria placed fourth at the State Meet in the 800m with a PR time of 2:10.49. She won Sac-Joaquin Section Meet of Champions titles for 800m (2:14.73) and 1600m (5:02.16). Her 800m PR ranks CA No. 2 in the junior class and No. 4 regardless of class. Fauria missed the better part of the previous two seasons for health reasons. She made up for lost time winning four 1600m races and six 800m races. She also helped the St. Francis DMR team post a CA No. 3 and U.S. No. 13 time of 11:51.90 at the Arcadia Invitational. MileSplitCA All-Junior first team.

GABRIELLE PETERSON | Healdsburg/NC/Sr. | 1600 |  Peterson placed fifth at State for 3200m running a PR of 10:23.85, and placed sixth at State for 1600m (4:51.86). Her 3200 PR ranks CA No. 5 in the senior class and No. 8 regardless of class. Her 1600m PR of 4:47.90 to win a the NCS Redwood Empire Area Finals ranks CA No. 3 in the class and No. 6 overall. In 11 races at 1600m, she went sub-4:50 four times, sub-4:53 seven times, and ran at least sub-4:58 all but once. Peterson, headed to Oregon State where she will team with Meagen Lowe, won the North Coast Meet of Champions 1600m title (4:48.54) for the second year in a row, and was runner-up for 3200 (10:32.53). MileSplitCA All-Senior first team.

RAYNA STANZIANO | Concord/NC/Sr. | 800 | Stanziano placed third at State in the 800m for the second year in a row. She ran a season-best time of 2:10.07 that ranks CA No. 1 in the senior class and No. 3 overall. During the season, Stanziano won eight 800m races and placed no less than second 11 times. Stanziano, headed to St. Mary's College, ranks CA No. 8 overall for 1600 (4:49.85) and No. 6 in the class for 3200 (10:35.07). MileSplitCA All-Senior first team.
HANNAH WILSON | Westlake Village Oaks Christian/SS/Jr. | 800 | Wilson placed fifth at the State Meet in the 800m with a PR of 2:10.87, and ran on the 4x400 relay team that placed seventh in 3:50.83 after running the second-fastest time in prelims (3:47.16).  Her 800m PR ranks CA No. 3 in the class and No. 5 overall. Wilson helped Oaks Christian to a fifth Southern Section Division 4 team title in six seasons by placing second in the 800m (2:11.64) and running a leg on the winning 4x400 relay team (3:48.73). MileSplitCA All-Junior first team.


HURDLES

ASJAH ATKINSON | Long Beach St. Anthony/SS/So. | 100 Hurdles/Long Jump | Atkinson placed third at the State Meet in the 100 hurdles (13.84/2.9) to lead a group of five girls from the 2021 class that made the 100 hurdles final at State. It was her second year in a row qualifying for State in the hurdles (she placed seventh in the 100H final as a freshman). Atkinson placed sixth at State in the long jump with a PR of 19-04.50. The mark ranks No. 4 in the sophomore class. Atkinson won the Southern Section Division 4 title in the 100 hurdles (14.18) -- for the second consecutive year -- and the long jump (18-08.25). She also won the SS Masters Meet title in the 100 hurdles (14.08). 
CYVANNA BOWEN | Stockton Edison/SJ/Sr. | 100 Hurdles | Bowen placed second at the State Meet in the 100 hurdles with an all-conditions PR of 13.54 (2.9). That time ranks CA No. 2 for wind-aided marks and tied for U.S. No. 6 in the senior class for all-conditions marks. Bowen ran sub-14 five times during the season, including twice at State. Bowen is a two-time State Meet finalist (she placed ninth as a junior).  MileSplitCA All-Senior first team.
REESE RENZ | Bakersfield Liberty/CS/So. | 100H/300H/Relays/Long Jump | Renz placed third at the State Meet in the 300 hurdles (42.24) and sixth in the 100 hurdles (14.15/2.9). Her time from State in the 300H ranks CA No. 1 in the sophomore class and CA No. 3 overall. Her wind-legal best for 100 hurdles of 14.21 (0.9) for fifth at State Meet prelims ranks CA No. 3 for wind-legal times. Renz is the Central Section Masters champion in both hurdles. Her long jump PR of 18-04.50 to win the CIF-Central Section South Area title ranks CA No. 8 in the class for wind-legal jumps. She ran on the 4x400 relay that posted a season-best 3:50.01 for seventh in State Meet Prelims to earn a slot into the final. That time ranked CA No. 8 for the season. MileSplitCA All-Sophomore first team.
BELLA WITT | Calabasas/SS/So. | 100H/Sprints | Witt's 13.63 (0.5) for third at the Arcadia Invitational is the state's fastest time in the sophomore class and fastest wind-legal time regardless of class. That time ranks tied for U.S. No. 13, regardless of class, for wind-legal marks. Witt has a 200m PR of 24.49 (-0.4), which ranks CA No. 7 for all-conditions and CA No. 5 (wind-legal). Witt had her season cut short by disqualification after the league final, costing her a chance to compete in the CIF post-season. Her 100m PR of 11.90 (4.2) ranks CA No. 6 in the class for all conditions. Her 200m PR of 24.49 (-0.4) ranks CA No. 7 in the class. Her 300m hurdles PR (43.33) ranks CA No. 3 in the class. MileSplitCA All-Sophomore first team.

JUMPS

HALEY ABIRACHED | Clovis Buchanan/CS/Sr. | Triple Jump | Abirached placed second at the State Meet in the triple jump (40-03.25). She saved her best for last, hitting her PR jump and going beyond 40 feet for the first time to add eight huge points to Buchanan's team championship total. She had the second best jump of her life, 39-07.50, for fifth at State Prelims. Abirached went 38-07 to win her first Central Section Masters title. She is one of only nine girls nationwide in the 2019 class with a wind-legal jump of at least 40 feet. MileSplitCA All-Senior first team.
AIRIANA DARGAN | Concord/NC/Jr. | Long Jump/Triple Jump | Dargan placed fourth at the State Meet in the triple jump (39-11.50/0.0) and 10th in the long jump (18-02/0.6). Her triple jump at State is a PR that ranks CA No. 4 in the class. Her long jump PR of 18-07.50 ranks CA No. 5 in the class. She swept the horizontal jumps at the NCS Meet of Champions, winning the long jump with a best of 17-08.75 (0.5) and the triple with a best jump of 38-05.50 (1.0). MileSplitCA All-Junior first team.
KELLEY KERN | Concord Carondelet/NC/Jr. | Pole Vault | Kern placed fourth at the State Meet in the pole vault (13-00). She is a three-time qualifier to the State Meet, two-time finalist and first-time medalist. She won the North Coast Section Meet of Champions title -- for the second year in a row -- with a 13-04 PR that ranks CA No. 1 in the junior class and No. 4 regardless of class. She is one of a record 10 girls in CA to clear 13 feet in 2019, which she did at two meets. She also cleared 13-00 once as a sophomore. MileSplitCA All-Junior first team.
JADE MCDONALD | Calabasas/SS/So. | Long Jump/Triple Jump/100H | McDonald made the State Meet final in the long jump, triple jump and 100 hurdles. She placed fourth in the long jump with a PR 19-09.75, placed seventh in the triple jump (39-00.50) and eighth in the 100H (14.50/2.9). McDonald has the top mark in the class in the long jump (19-09.75/2.2) and No. 4 in the triple jump (39-04.75). She is the Southern Section Division 2 champion in the long jump (19-05.75) and in the triple jump, and runner-up in the 100H (despite running a 14.29 PR). She placed second in the SS Masters Meet in the long jump (19-03), third in the triple jump (39-00.75) and fourth in the 100 hurdles (14.33). MileSplitCA All-Sophomore first team.
ELISE MILLER | Escondido San Pasqual/SD/So. | Triple Jump | Miller is the San Diego Section Division 1 champion in the long jump and the triple jump and qualified for the State Meet Final in both. She has the top triple jump in the class (40-06) from winning the SDS title. That marks ranks U.S. No. 6 in the class. At State, Miller jumped 40-02.75 to reach the final and 40-02 to earn a third-place medal. Miller's long jump PR of 18-10.50 ranks CA No. 7 in the class. She won the SDS D1 title in the long jump (18-04.25) and went on to place ninth at State (18-06.25). MileSplitCA All-Sophomore first team.

VICTORIA PLUMMER | Moorpark/SS/Jr. | High Jump | Plummer placed third at the State Meet in the high jump (5-07) behind Alysah Hickey and Rachel Glenn, and second at Southern Section Masters (5-06) behind Glenn. Plummer had seven meets where she cleared at least 5-06. Her PR of 5-08 ranks CA No. 2 in the junior class and tied for No. 4 regardless of class. She placed fifth at the Arcadia Invitational, third at Mt. SAC and second at SS Masters. MileSplitCA All-Junior first team.

CAMRYN THOMSON | Poway/SD/Sr. | Pole Vault | Thomson placed third in the pole vault at the State Meet with a 13-00 clearance. That was her eighth time in 18 meets vaulting over at least 13 feet. She cleared a PR of 13-03 at a league dual, a height that ranks No. 5 in CA, is tied for U.S. No. 8 in the class and is tied for U.S. No. 19 overall. Placed second at the San Diego Section Division 1 Final (13-00) to eventual State champion Ashley Callahan, a league and section rival. Thomson is one of a record 10 girls in CA to clear at least 13-00 this season. MileSplitCA All-Senior first team.


THROWS

SHYANN FRANKLIN | Santa Clarita Golden Valley/SS/Sr. | Shot Put | Franklin placed second at the State Meet in the shot put for the second year in a row by unleashing a PR throw of 48-00.75 that ranks CA No. 2 and U.S. No. 9. She placed second at Southern Section Masters (43-10.75), for the second year in a row,  and won her first SS Division 2 title (43-01.75). She is a four-time SS Masters qualifier in the shot and three-time SS Masters qualifier in the discus throw. MileSplitCA All-Senior first team.

CARLY WATTS | Pacifica Terra Nova/CC/Sr. | Discus Throw/Shot Put | Watts placed third at State in the shot put (45-04) and was 11th in the discus throw (140-01). She is a two-time Central Coast Section champion and State Meet medalist in the shot put. Watts won the CCS title in the shot put (46-02) and placed second in the discus (140-04). She hit her discus PR of 157-04 to place third at the Arcadia Invitational, which ranks CA No. 4 and U.S. No. 18. She achieved her shot put PR of 46-05 at CCS Trials, a mark that ranks CA No. 5. CCS champion in the shot put (46-02). MileSplitCA All-Senior first team.
