Although there are only two weight events in California but several teams have powered their way to state meet hardware with success in both events. The best-returning thrower in California is Fowler senior Jocelynn Budwig. At last year's state meet, Budwig was the leading shot putter at the trials and repeated her victorious effort the following day with a throw of 46-11. Budwig also was the leading thrower in the discus at the trials but finished in 3rd place the following day. She is the top returner this season with a best of 174-2. With two potential victories at this year's state meet, Budwig could pace the way for a top team finish for her Fowler team.
