Monte Vista Invitational Meet Preview

Monte Vista Invitational cranks up for its 35th Edition!

There has been a lot of discussion as to the toughest cross country course in the area, with many worthy nominees brought forward.   But ask any area runner who has conquered the Monte Vista Invite course, and Oak Hill Park just might be on the top of their list!   Between the usual hot afternoon weather (first race is 4 pm), the small bridge "funnel" 200 meters into the race which forces a quick start, and the mighty Eliminator Hill in the second mile, this course is not for the faint of heart.  But year after year this early season classic fills up with coaches anxious to take a measure of their team across equal two-mile grade level races.

This year's meet features high schools from all over the bay area and beyond - the participating teams can be found below.  The list of the Top Ten All-Time performances by grade is a who's who of east bay running elite!  (since the current course configuration in 2005). You can find those two lists in the next pages.

This year's meet will feature chip timing courtesy of Diablo Timing, with live results available immediately at the conclusion of each race.  http://www.diablotiming.com

Best of luck to all our participating runners!
