Top 6 Story Lines for Day 2 at Sac Joaquin Masters

6) Will the Denner twins sweep the two long distance events?
The emergence of the Denner sisters (Maddy and Elena) may have occurred in Cross Country in the fall and perhaps earlier but they really made themselves known at the Stanford Invitational (photo above courtesy of Flotrack). They helped their Oak Ridge teammates finish in 2nd place on Friday in the Distance Medley Relay in a time of 12:00.02. The following day, they finished behind nationally ranked Claudia Lane in the mile with Maddy securing a new PR of 4:50.32 and Elena right behind with her own best of 4:51.42. They continued their strong running at Arcadia and are now poised to do some big things at the state meet next week. Maddy is schedule to run in the 1600m and will need to get past 2016 state podium finisher Olivia O'Keeffe of Davis. Both runners will compete in the 3200m but they will have to contend with Alexandra Beitia of Granite Bay who ran 10:22.19 at the Arcadia Invitational.
