September 20, 2008, Angle's Camp, CA – At the Bret Harte "Frogtown" Cross Country Invitational last Saturday, the Forest Lake Christian Falcons finished second among the men's Division Five team standings with 35 points, only 13 points behind Victory Christian which scored 22 points. Austin Violette (pictured right) ran a personal best, finishing 8th overall and 1st among D-5 teams, with a 17:47 clocking, while Ashton Santee placed 104th in 22:04, and newcomer D.J Unruh opened his season with a respectable 23:17 to place 118th. Rounding out the Falcon rop-seven men's team was Christian Wright who placed 128th, followed byJosh Thompson, David Herron , and Amos McCamey in places 130th - 132nd. Although the Forest Lake Christian did not field a full scoring team on Saturday, Lia Hegarty, established a solid 25:15 season-opening mark to finish 48th overall and 7thamong D-5 schools, while teammate Annie Pierce finished in 97th place (13th among D-5 Schools). The Falcons will compete Tuesday, September 23, at their first CVC League Meet in Foresthill, and then return to action in Marysville on Friday, September 26, for the Yuba-Sutter Invitational. Competition begins at 4:00 pm on Tuesday and 3:45 on Friday.
