This could be a banner year for California Track and Field athletes especially on the field side. So far this year, we have had Trabuco Hills sophomore Sean Hill clearing 7'0.25" in the high jump. Esparanza junior Bronson Osborn with two monster throws of 70'0" and 191'8" in the shot put and discus respectively. Darius Carbin of Mt. Pleasant winning the high jump (7'0") and triple jump (47'11.5") at the Simplot Games. Last Saturday, Amador Valley senior Nathan Esparza broke the NCS record in the shot put with a heave of 65'3'5".
The latest top mark was recorded yesterday at the 49er Friendship meet by Del Oro senior, Jacob Bowler (file photo above from 2014 courtesy of The Loomis News) in the pole vault. He had a winning jump of 16'8" which puts him at 7th on the all-time SJS list and is not only the #1 mark in California but in the entire nation. You can check out the 6 vaulters ahead of him on the SJS list in the list below thanks to the Bella Vista Track and Field website.
