Virtual Meet Preview: Bella Vista Bronco Invitational

Top teams from as far away as Kentucky are headed to Kendall Derry's home invitational this weekend, and you can bet she wants to make a statement.

While our attention is gradually shifting back to SoCal after a few weeks in the Northern half of the state (and as we build toward Mt. SAC next weekend), there will still be some significant action north of Clovis this weekend. The Bella Vista Bronco Invitational has gathered several very strong teams, including two Sac Joaquin powers and one nationally-known program from east of the Mississippi. That would be Assumption (KY), a girls' team with a strong history that includes multiple NXN appearances in the last decade. The girls from Louisville are going to have their hands full with Davis and host Bella Vista, as well as Central Section visitor Clovis North. This could also be a great opportunity for a team like St. Francis to have a good showing before the championship season arrives. On the boys' side, Jesuit is looking to continue a strong run of races this season, and the competition will be strong for them. Davis has plenty of talent on their boys' team, too, and squads like Armijo and Shasta (down from the Northern Section) will also be competitive.
