2018 North Coast Section XC Detailed Preview

Division 1 Girls

Teams to Watch (Full Rankings)

Dublin and Amador Valley will have a large impact in the girls' Division I race as well. The Amador Valley girls finished in 4th place at last year's Division II race and were led by freshman Hope Bergmark. They return five of their top six from last season and should be the favorites to take the Division I title. Dougherty Valley easily won the Division I title last year and return their entire top seven but will need an improved effort in order to lock up their second section title in a row. Dublin coach Chris Williams has turned his school's cross country into a boys' section powerhouse and will be aiming to raise the level of his girls' team. They finished in eighth place in last year's Division II race and at this point, they seem to be in a battle for third place with last year's second place finisher, California. James Logan and Berkeley appear to be the next best teams and will be aiming to break into the top half of the field.
