There were three runners within four seconds of each other at the finish line with Oceanside El Camino's Mario Trasvina (15:23.7), out-kicking Mira Mesa's Stefan Rasmuson (15:25.0) and Otay Ranch's Justin Mulvany (15:27.3). "I knew it would be between Stephan and myself," said Trasvina (pictured) while being mobbed by his teammates. "I was scared at first-my heart was pounding." Bonita Vista's Isaiah Labra led the way as the Barons captured the team title, after finishing second a year ago, with 97 points.
