North Coast Section Rankings by Division

As the championship season approaches, we always like to give the MIleSplit database a chance to try to predict the outcome of every division race in every section, using season results to this point as the basis. We know it's not perfect, but it does start the conversation (and looking at the data helps us get focused on the teams and individuals to watch), so we find it interesting. We hope you will, too!

We've been working through the sections from the first to conduct finals through to the last, and the North Coast Section is one of the last. The NCS goes straight from league meets to section finals, which aren't until the Saturday before the state meet. This section is also tough to rank - they tend to run on tougher 3 Mile courses in their area, but many of the top teams have also traveled to big meets on much faster tracks. So make sure you look through these rankings with that in mind, as it can exaggerate the difference between two teams and even downplay the strength of a team that avoids the "racetrack" courses in other areas.
