Central Coast Section (CCS) Top 8 Meet Preview

Girls 100 Hurdles
Meet Record: Tamara Gulley, Oak Grove 13.77 2000

The favorite in this event is sophomore Jazlynn Shearer, Silver Creek (14.55). She won her first section title last year as a freshman and should be on pace to win four section titles in this event by the end of this season. She will be challenged by Leland junior Chae Eun Kim (15.18) and Silver Creek teammate Arianna Fisher (15.25). Fisher is by far the best triple jumper in the section and will have an opportunity to make the state meet in multiple events.

Boys 110 Hurdles
Meet Record: Arend Watkins Silver Creek 13.89 1997

Bellarmine and Los Gatos appear to be the top two boys' teams in the section. The hurdle events could be key for Los Gatos with the Wada-Law brothers. Masaki Wada-Law has the fastest time in the section this year with a best of 14.83. He will be challenged by Valley Christian SJ junior Dangelo Mckenzie (14.90). Blake Rose Archbishop Mitty (14.94) and Quinn Lydon San Lorenzo Valley (14.95) are both right there with the top two hurdlers and either of them could pull off the win. Lydon's graduated teammate from last season, Sam Schubert, won the section title last year and finished 6th at the state final.
