St. Francis (Sacramento) continued to roll as a team, scoring just 24 points to dominate the Girls Varsity race. Bella Vista was second with 150, just ahead of El Camino's 165. Sophomore Sarah Chaves (El Camino) had an impressive race, taking Isabella Fauria to the wire before losing 17:33.7 - 17:35.3. Sydney Vandegrift (St. Francis) was 3rd, with another El Camino 10th-grade right on her heels in Alyssa Barnes.  Watch out for the Eagles next year: their top 5 was composed of 5 sophomores and a freshman, and with some depth to back up that 1-2 punch this could be a formidable team.

Armijo's boys showed they have much more than just a single star runner. Competing without Luis Grijalva, the Indians still put three runners in the top 10 of the Large School Varsity race to defeat Lodi 65 - 87. Logan Dodge (Whitney) held off Garrett Gough (Nevada Union) for first place, both running 15:52 on the Haggin Oaks 5K course. Christian Brothers won the Boys Small School Varsity race 83 - 111 over El Dorado, as Collin Ullrich (Liberty Ranch) ran 16:02.6 to take the individual win.
