Esperanza junior, Bronson Osborn, sets new Orange County shot put mark

At today's Corona Relays, Esperanza HS junior, Bronson Osborn (Kirby Lee file photo from '15 state meet), threw the shot 70'0" on his 4th and final throw to break the old Orange County record of Brian Blutreich, Capistrano Valley (69'6.5").

Osborn's mark now stands as the 4th best mark in California history behind Brent Noon, Fallbrook 76'2" in 1990, Matt Katnik, St. John Bosco 72'3" in 2015 and Van Mounts, Bakersfield 71'10" in 1997.

The rapidly improving Osborn finished in 3rd place at last year's California state Track and Field meet with a mark of 61'9". He now has his sights set on a state victory as well as potentially moving up even higher on the all-time state list.
