As part of MileSplitCA's detailed walk-up to the 2018 CIF Track & Field season, one of the objectives is to interview as many of the elite and returning athletes as we are able to catch up with to provide a feature video for our premium subscribers.
In this feature, we profile San Ramon California High 800-meter runner Alyssa Brewer, the two-time CIF-State champion in the two-lap race.
Brewer's best of 2:07.07 last year in defending her State title, ranked as the No. 7 performer among U.S. high schoolers in 2017. Her PR of 2:06.86, posted in winning the State title as a sophomore in 2016, ranks 21st on CA's all-time list.
Brewer is the ninth girl in the 44 years females have competed in track & field in CA to win the two-lap race at least twice. She is looking to become only the fourth to win the State 800 title at least three years in a row.
Follow along as we continue to populate this Track & Field Preview Interview Series with new profiles.
