Thunder Invitational

 We will host Varsity girls/boys.  Our track was resurfaced summer 2022.   We will be using a finish-lynx timing system run by Red Cap Timing.  All field events are located on the infield.  Teams are welcome to set up tents in the top rows of the stadium or on the grass behind shot put and discus.  We will have a snack bar and food truck available. We will accept credit or cash for spectator fees.  

Here is a list of the following important information:

  • All entries to the meet will be submitted through  milesplit.com.  Please claim your team and register there

    • 5 athletes per running event (5 boys, 5girls) 

    • 4 athletes per field event (4 boys, 4 girls) 

  • 8:30 a.m. start time for field events 9:00am start for running events 

  • Please no 1/4 inch spikes or longer

  • All running trials will be run and scored as timed finals

  • 3 throws will be followed by 3 final attempts for top 9 competitors in shot and discus

  • All long/triple jumpers will have 4 jumps with no finals.  Jumps will be run in flights.  

  • Finish Lynx Timing System provided by Red Cap Timing

  • MEDALS FOR TOP 5 INDIVIDUALS AND RELAYS 

  • TEAM TROPHIES FOR FIRST, SECOND AND THIRD PLACE

  • $300 per team  

  • Teams with less than 10 athletes can pay individually $30 per athlete

  • 5 athletes per running event.  4 athletes per field event

Thunder Invitational Meet Day Information

Date:             Saturday, April 11, 2026

Location:      Rocklin High School, 5301 Victory Lane, Rocklin, CA  95746

Admission:       Adults........................$10.00

                    Seniors.........................$7.00

                    Students ....................$7.00

                    (Children 7 and under are free)

We will accept digital payments as well as cash. 

Wristbands will be issued to coaches and spectators.  

TimeSchedule:     We will have a rolling schedule.  field events starting at 8:30 am and running beginning at 9am.  Please make sure jumpers pay attention to flights

Parking:       Buses are able to park on Victory lane and along the border of the main parking lot.  Do not park cars on red curbs!

Facility:        All weather 8 lane track, two jump runways, no dirt track spikes please. One discus & shot put ring. One high jump pit. One pole vault pit.  Timing provided by Red Cap.

Packet Pick Up:         Packets may be picked up at the front gate at 7:30 am.  Please bring an entry fee unless you have already mailed them.

 

Clerk        All running event competitors must check in with the clerk of the course. 

Field Events- athletes check in at your event. Bibs will be provided to all track athletes in your packets. 

 

Coaches Meeting:       8:15 am at the finish line tent 

         

Infield:         Only competing athletes and officials (no spectators) are allowed on the infield.                                                        Coaches are welcome on the infield while their athlete is competing in the given field event

 

Results:        Will be posted on live at www.redcaptiming.com. Scoring: All track and field events will be scored through six (6) places, 10-8-6-4-2-1 basis.

 

Field Events:    long jump and triple jump will be run in flights with finals immediately following finals.

Throws:        All throwers will receive 3 throws; top 9 will advance to finals immediately following trials.

Snack Bar:    A snack bar will be open throughout the meet. Food trucks will also be available

Apparel             Fine Designs will be making customizable apparel 

Awards        Athletes may pick up their awards as soon as the results are posted. Medals will go to the 1st-5th place finishers. 

TEAM TROPHIES WILL BE HANDED OUT AT THE END OF THE MEET TO THE 1ST 2ND AND 3RD PLACE TEAMS.Medals and trophies must be picked up the day of the meet.
