Please join us at our outstanding pole vault venue at San Clemente High School on Saturday, March 23rd for the 2nd annual Steve Smith Memorial Pole Vault open, honoring the late-great former world record holder, Steve Smith.
Steve was a frequent visitor and friend to the pole vault family at San Clemente High School for many years. We hope to honor his legacy in the sport with an opportunity for vaulters of all ability levels to be the focus of attention for a day.
The meet will feature an "Open" format with flights for advanced vaulters and new vaulters as well as a drills/coaching section for questions and vaulting tips. For newcomers who may want to learn about the sport but may not necessarily be ready to try vaulting, you can register on-sight.
Meet fees will be $20 per athlete. Fees can be mailed in advance or coaches can bring cash or checks to the meet. If mailing in advance, please send payment to: San Clemente High School Track & Field C/O Dan Johnson. 700 Avenida Pico, San Clemente CA. 92972
