Wake Forest-bound Bryce Gilmore, a senior at Sage Creek, was unchallenged in winning the league title in 15:45.7 over the 5K course at Guajome Park in Oceanside. Sophomore Omar Reyes was second in 16:28.5 in leading El Camino to the league title. Torrey Pines senior Johnathan Hidle was third in 16:42.6.
Sage Creek senior Stormy Wallace ran away with the league title, cruising the 5K course at Guajome Park in Oceanside in 18:12.6. El Camino junior McCall Dame was second (18:34.5) and Torrey Pines senior Annika Salz was third (18:38.3). Senior Kyra Compton was third (18:39.4) in leading La Costa Canyon to the team title.
Junior Tommy Bell was a 3.9-second winner over Carlos Alvarez in leading Mt. Carmel to the team title. Bell crossed in 16:14.2 with Alvarez just back at 16:18.1 over the 5K course at Guajome Park in Oceanside. Senior Alexandre Leroy of Westview was third (16:26.9).
BYU-bound Jacey Farmer, a senior at Rancho Bernardo, dropped the fastest time of the day over the four league championship races, dropping a 5K PR of 17:50.0 over the Guajome Park course in Oceanside. Farmer pulled away from Del Norte junior Hannah Riggins over the second set of hills and closed strong, 19.1 seconds in front. Riggins crossed second in 18:09.1 with Poway senior Mackenzie Rogers third in 18:14.5. Del Norte, which had a fourth-place finish from freshman Emily Russo, beat Poway by three points for the league title. Sophomore Tessa Buswell was sixth in 18:55.7 for Poway.
San Dieguito Academy senior James McKenzie won the league title by 15.2 seconds, running the 5K course at Guajome Park in 16:40.6 seconds. Junior Mark DeHaro was second (16:55.8) in leading Vista to the team title. Carlsbad senior Owen Clines was third (17:04.1). SDA put three in the top eight but junior Franklin Garcia placed fifth for Vista (17:13.9) and the Panthers went 9-10-11 while gapping at 42 seconds to take the 37-39 victory.
