NORTHWOOD HS NORTHWOOD HS Earl Engman Relays PORTOLA HS Stadium Saturday March 7, 2020 9:00 AM The Earl Engman Relays, is scheduled for Saturday, March 7, 2020. This year we will open the track season at the all weather surface at Portola HS Stadium. The meet consists of 9 varsity relay events and 4 field event relays.
Field events: Boys and Girls Long Jump Relay (3 competitors per school) Boys and Girls High Jump Relay (3 competitors per school) Boys and Girls Shot Put Relay (3 competitors per school) Boys and Girls Discus Relay (3 competitors per school) Girls Distance Medley (400, 800, 1200, 1600) B teams allowed Girls Shuttle Low Hurdles (4 x 110m, 5 low hurdles) Boys Shuttle Low Hurdles (4 x 110m, 5 low hurdles) 8 x 200 Boys and Girls 4 x 800 Boys and Girls B teams allowed 4 x 100 Boys and Girls Sprint Medley (400, 200, 200, 800) Boys and Girls 8 x 100 Boys and Girls 4 x 200 Boys and Girls Boys Distance Medley (400, 800, 1200, 1600) B teams allowed

Divisions: The meet will be divided into 3 boy divisions and 3 girl divisions per day Entry Fee: $650.00 ($325.00 per team). Entries will be limited to the first 27

Scholarship: Northwood High School will donate a total of $1000 towards the annual
Earl Engman Scholarship presented in May
Awards: Medals will be awarded to the top 4 teams in each race. Team trophies
will be awarded to the winner and runner up in each division. A sweepstakes award will be given to the team with the highest combined boy and girl score. B Teams will not be awarded medals .
The Earl Engman Relays is an excellent early season meet to assess the ability of your athletes. It is a wonderful opportunity for your team members to earn a varsity medal, run fast times on an all-weather track and build morale in competitive races. As a former manager of this meet and mentor to track and field, Earl Engman is remembered for encouraging widespread participation and dedication to many young individuals.
