Loyola (SS) senior Anthony Stone won the 3-mile race in 15:02.80 with Ayala (SS) junior Yael Grimaldi second (15:07.90) and Ayala senior Ko Akabori third (15:15.00).
Siena Palicke, a junior at Yorba Linda, took the lead early and was never challenged in winning the Varsity Girls race at the Great Cow Run at Don Knabe Community Regional Park in Cerritos. Palicke's time for the 3 -mile race of 17:20.3 was a PR. It was a 24.1-second improvement for this race last season and a 7.5-second improvement on her previous 3-mile best set last September at the Woodbridge Cross Country Classic at SilverLakes where she won the Varsity Red A race, the first of six race wins for her in 2018.
Anthony Stone, a senior at Loyola, took command early and went on to win the Varsity Boys race at the Great Cow Run at Don Knabe Community Regional Park in Cerritos. Stone's time over the 3-mile mostly-grass course on a humid morning was 15:03.8. Runner-up Yael Grimaldi (Ayala) covered the 3-mile course in 15:07.9. Stone ran a bit faster as a junior, crossing in 14:55.90, his PR for this distances.
