Meet Information
Welcome to the 43rd annual Hal Clements/Bret Harte Invitational. We hope to again provide a venue for small-school athletes like yours to compete against like-competitors in the area and see some success along the way. We will limit this to 30 small schools, so this should be a great chance for your program to compete within the wheel-house of the season schedule.
Facility: Atlas Polyurethane surface, runways and high jump apron, with 9 lane straights; 8 on the curve. or 3/16 spikes required. Concrete discus and shot rings.
Parking: Bus/van/car parking available across Murphys Grade Road in large parking lot adjacent to swim/tennis/baseball complex.
Entry Fees: $8 per athlete, $15 per relay. Maximum $250 per total team. Entry fees payable with a school check due BEFORE THE MEET, at the entry gate.

Entry Instructions: Entries must be entered on by Wednesday, April 10th at 11pm. Every athlete must be registered through Each school is allowed 3 athletes per event and 1 relay per event/division.

Start Time: Track Events 9am with a rolling time schedule. Field Events 9am.
Events: Full schedule of events in all 4 divisions. ALL FINALS, NO TRIALS.
Awards: Medals awarded to places 1-5 in each individual event; places 1-3 in relays. Medals available at meet conclusion, in a bag for you to hand out on the bus!
Timing: FlashTiming system in use, F.A.T. run from the infield/track.
Rules: This meet will be governed by the California High School Rules.
Restroom/Changing/Concessions: Restrooms available next to concessions (south end), no locker room use available. Athletes strongly recommended to come dressed to compete. Food available at concession stand.
Admission: Adults: $5.00, students (17 and under) $3.00. Children 10 & under free.

Warm-up areas: Running events: baseball field/football infield. Clerk of the Course will be located in the middle of the infield. Field Events: event site. Please no cell phones/ earbuds/headphones in warm-up areas and/or infield. Please no audible music from your teams camp into the competition areas.
Check-In Times: Running events must check in with the Clerk by the final call and report to starting line. Athletes not checked-in cannot expect to be included in a race. Field events must check in with the event judge at the event.
Starting Heights: Determined day of the meet at the event site. Each field event participant will have 4 attempts per event (no finals). High Jump will be run by division. Long and Triple Jumps will be run in flights, by division. There will be no more attempts after the event is closed.
Seeding: Heats will run slowest to fastest; field events from lowest to highest marks.
Team Tents: Place team tents at the highest point on either home or visitor bleachers.
Results: Results will be posted on the concrete wall of the gymnasium behind the press box ASAP after each event. Results will also be posted online post-meet at
