For the second straight year, Steven Khan (Ayala) posted a big time in the season-opening Great Cow Run, and he'll most likely hold the top spot in the 3 Mile rankings come Monday.
It's very early September so it must be time for the Lagoon Valley Classic in Vacaville. Many of the finest teams and individuals from the SJS will compete on the rugged Lagoon Valley Park course.
A handful of the state's best runners could make their season debut Saturday morning, including Davis Senior's Michael Vernau, who won the race last year.
