Elise Cranny chasing Jordan's time in Payton Jordan Invite 1500 May 01, 2014

Only two other girls have ever run faster in US high school history at 1500 meters than Niwot High School senior Elise Cranny. Mary Cain and Jordan Hasay. While Mary Cain's 4:04.62 national record looks to be safe for the time being, the #2 all-time ranked performer at the distance in Jordan Hasay at 4:14.50 from 2008 seems ripe for the picking for the current US leader at 800 meters in Cranny.

Elise Cranny, a senior from Niwot High School in Colorado, will be racing against pro and collegiate competition in the women's 1500 meter run at the Payton Jordan Invitational tonight at Stanford Unversity in California (Palo Alto). Last year at this same meet, Cranny ran her PR and the US #3 all-time performance of 4:15.07. She will be in the second fastest of three sections with her race slated to go off at 7:37 PM West Coast Time as she looks to improve upon her time as well as move the US high school all-time list at 1500 meters.

Elise Cranny 4:10.95 US #2 All-Time 1500 @ Payton Jordan May 04, 2014

Like she jumped in the elite women's 800 at the Mt. SAC Relays two weeks ago to run a US #1 time of 2:04 in the 800, Elise Cranny got bumped into the fast section of the women's 1500 at the Payton Jordan Invitational on Sunday night at Stanford University in Palo Alto, California. The increased level of competition payed off for Cranny as she moved one spot up the US all-time list in the event with a near 5 second personal best improvement in a time of 4:10.95.
