California Boys Cross Country Performer of the Week (Sep. 7-13)

After another week of cross country racing in California, it's time to vote for the MileSplit California boys cross country performer of the week.

This Week's Nominees:

Matthew Ogilvie, Jesuit (SJ) (California): Covered 5K in 14:43.10 to dominate the invitational race at the Kim Duyst XC Invitational. The senior's performance ranks No. 20 nationally this season and further establishes him among California's leading postseason contenders.

Joshua Landon, Whitney (SJ) (California): Winning the 3 Mile outright at the 7th Annual Jackie Henderson Memorial, this junior topped a 186-runner field in 14:38.02, holding a 7.4-second cushion at the line. It's the No. 2 clocking of 2,468 athletes in MileSplit's database at North Monterey County HS since 2019.

Elijah Anderson, West Valley (NS) (California): The Trinity Invitational belonged to a 15:25.40 performance over 3 Mile, won by 46.9 seconds among 62 finishers. That mark sits No. 2 of 246 athletes in MileSplit's database at Trinity Alps Golf Course since 2021, and it improves on a prior showing of 16:59.86 on the same course, 94.5 seconds faster.

Noah Ayala, Holy Innocents Academy HS (California): Covering 3 Mile in 15:40.97 at the Grant Nunnally Invitational 2026 secured the win by 9.0 seconds over a field of 118 finishers. The effort ranks No. 4 of 1,008 athletes in MileSplit's database at Ben Clark Safety Training Center since 2019, improving from a previous 16:33.32 on the same course, 52.4 seconds faster.
