The Asics Sundevil Cross Country Invitational took on a different meaning this year as the Foot Locker Cross Country National Championships announced it's end earlier this season. The Morley Field Sports Complex has hosted the historic national championships for decades, and this past weekend's invitational gave a tremendous preview. However, the course is previewing the eventual Brooks XC Championships, presented by Fleet Feet, which will replace the National Championships.
This year, we saw elite racing from the very top, where Jaxon Northcutt earned the title as the fastest improver on the day with a finishing time of 14:49. The junior from Mt. Carmel made an incredible improvement of 1 minute and 32 seconds to break the course record.
