CA Future Stars: Servite Sprinters are the Present

Every week we will bring you members of the freshman and/or the sophomore classes who are having good seasons who we believe might become leaders or stars in the sport

In this week's edition of California Future Stars we'll be talking about Servite's sprinters!!

That's it, really.

Do I need to explain more about why they are CA Future Stars? Alright, alright, I'll do so because you're insisting on it.

For starters, they already broke the Orange Country 4x100m record three times this season with two different teams. At The Qualifier, they most recently broke the record with a 40.94, ranking them second in the state. This team included Benjamin Harris, Robert Gardner, Jorden Wells, and Kamil Pelovello. Harris and Gardner are sophomores, while Wells and Pelovello are freshmen.

We spoke to the Servite boys when the freshman, Jaelen Hunter, was also part of the team. They ran 40.98 at the Redondo Invitational to finish second to the state leaders, Long Beach Poly.

When it comes to speaking about each of these boys individually, it's best to look at the freshman rankings.

Let's start with the 100m, where Jorden Wells leads all freshmen in California with a 10.56 from the Redondo Nike Track Festival while his teammates Kamil Pelovello and Jaelen Hunter follow him at number 2 and 3.

Next, look at the freshman 200m rankings, where Kamil Pelovello leads all freshmen with a 21.86 from the Eagle Invitational. Jorden Wells's twin brother, Jace Wells, also enters the freshman top 5 because of his 22.50 at the Mustang Round UP.

When it comes to the short sprints, it's evident that the Sertivite sprinters are future stars but they are also stars of the present. Their 4x100m will be contending for a State title this year, and as individuals, they can compete with the best in the state.
