30 Girls XC Teams to Watch this Fall: Los Altos

The 2022 fall cross country season was a dream season for the Los Altos girls. They won the SCVAL (DAL) league championship over a tough Palo Alto girls' team running one of the fastest team times on the Crystal Springs course (92:00.7). At the CCS meet, Los Altos ran an even collective time and ran the 3rd fastest team time ever at 91:42.4 trailing only the 2007 Carlmont team that ran 91:20 and the 2015 Aptos team that ran 91:22.9.

At the state meet, the Los Altos girls won their first-ever Division II state team title over Newbury Park. In the merge of the entire state, they finished in 2nd place behind only Buchanan and qualified for NXN for the first time in school history.

This season, Los Altos returns the majority of their 2022 team although they do lose Duke-bound senior, Lauren Soobrian. Sister Emily led Los Altos at the state meet with her 10th-place finish and will be primed for an improved junior season. Senior Jasleen Sidhu had an impressive track and field season running bests of 4:54.36 and 10:43.11. An impressive sophomore class which includes Lydia Anderson (5:20.72/10:54.72) will also make the Eagles once again one of the top cross country teams in the state.
