Brynn Garcia, a freshman at JSerra (SS), placed 11th among scoring runners in the Division IV race at the CIF-State Championships, running the 5K Woodward Park course in 18:42.90 to lead her team to a 122-131 victory over La Canada (SS) for the team title.
In recognition of her accomplishment, Garcia was voted as CA's Girls Cross Country Runner of the Week for the week ending Nov. 27, receiving 51.86 percent of the vote in a statewide poll. Albany (NC) senior Sophia Nordenholz was second with 22.43 percent of the vote.
Vote for this week's CA Girls Cross Country Runner of the Week based on last week's meet results through Dec. 4. Voting closes Friday at 9 p.m.
