This article highlights the results of a quarterfinal-round dual as part of the MileSplitCA March Madness Virtual Meet Tournament. Virtual meets are scored based solely on 2020 results using the standard dual meet scoring points format of 5-3-1 for individuals and 5-0 for relays. Athletes are scored in no more than four events (although the program that processes the meet scores does not have access to individuals in a relay). Teams are limited to three athletes per event. Stay with us for the entire tournament to see which boys and girls teams reign supreme in this virtual meet format.

No. 2 Upland (SS) vs. No. 26 Citrus Valley (SS)

While the average margin of victory in the first three of four quarterfinal virtual meets scored in the boys tournament is 3 points, the average through the first three of four quarterfinals in the girls tournament is ...  44.3!

This following this absolute annihilation by No. 2 Upland (SS) over No. 26 Citrus Valley (SS) in the girls bracket of the MileSplitCA March Madness Virtual Dual Meet Tournament.

Redlands-based Citrus Valley, the lowest remaining seed in either tournament, reached this quarterfinal with wins over Long Beach Poly (SS) and San Pasqual (SD). But the magic ended in a hurry against the big green and black U.

Upland put up 104 points in this quarterfinal to increase its average over the first three tournament virtual meets to 95.33 as it roars into the semifinals.

The star for Upland whose 2020 outdoor marks matched up best in this meet is junior Jordyn Grady. She had the fastest times in the 100m, 200m and 100m hurdles for 15 points.

Sophomore Caelyn Harris brought in 12 points with a first in the long jump (she was the 2019 State Meet champion), seconds in both the 100m and 100m hurdles, and a third in the 200m. Junior Ajah Anderson contributed 11 points with wins in the high jump and 300m hurdles, and a third in the 100m hurdles. And, sophomore Riley Rodriguez pulled in 10 points with fast times in both the 1600m and 3200m.
