Virtual Dual Meet Tournament Heads To Elite Eight

And then there were eight.

Eight remaining boys teams and eight remaining girls teams, that is.

The MileSplitCA March Madness Virtual Meet Tournament moves into the quarterfinals this week.

Again, as a reminder, this project is strictly based on marks achieved in the three-plus weeks before the 2020 outdoor season was stopped. Teams are scored 5-3-1 for individuals and 5-0 for relays. Athletes are limited to being scored in no more than four individual events per meet. Teams are limited to just three scorers per event.

This feature, using the MileSplit Virtual Meet tool -- usually a premium feature being offered throughout this series in front of the paywall -- is our way of breaking out athletes who were able to post marks before the season was abruptly suspended.

If you missed any of the previous virtual matchups, you can find those all recapped via the March Madness Virtual Meet Tournament series link provided here and also found at the top of each article.

Below is a list of our quarterfinal matchups. Virtual duals will be scored throughout the week and posted one per gender each day.
