No. 2 Upland (SS) vs. No. 18 Norco (SS)
When you own the jumps, sweep the relays and are barely challenged in most of the other categories, these meets came become rather one-sided in a hurry.
That's just fine with second-seeded Upland, a runaway winner over Norco in this second-round girls virtual dual tournament meet.
Senior Taylor Shorter had the top marks in four events, single-handedly accounting for 20 of Norco's 39 points, but her versatility as a sprinter, hurdler and discus thrower is simply not enough to carry a team past one as deep as Upland.
Junior Jordyn Grady won two events and placed second in a third, sophomore Caelyn Harris, the state's defending champion in the long jump, won her specialty, placed second in two events and third in another, sophomore Riley Rodriguez was a double winner in the distances, and junior Ajah Anderson had a first, a second and a third for Upland.
