This article highlights the results of first-round dual as part of the MileSplitCA March Madness Virtual Meet Tournament. Virtual meets are scored based solely on 2020 results using the standard dual meet scoring points format of 5-3-1 for individuals and 5-0 for relays. Athletes are scored in no more than four events. Notre Dame senior Quinten Lyons is one of the top combo throwers in the state whose 60-11.50 season best from a tri-meet on Feb. 27 stands as the No. 7 best throw in the U.S.
While Lyons took top honors in both throws, this tournament continues to reward teams with depth across multiple event categories. Winning four event categories and splitting the relays is why Trabuco Hills advanced in this boys first round virtual dual track meet.
The list of those carrying Trabuco Hills includes senior Isaac Korn, who earned five-point wins in the 200m and 300m hurdles and three points each for second-place ranking in both the 100m and 400m. An impressive 16-point contribution from the versatile senior sprinter.
Also scoring in four events for Trabuco Hills was junior Brandon Chau with seconds in the 110m hurdles, long jump and triple jump, and a third in the high jump to total 10 points.
Additionally for Trabuco Hills, junior Carson Kaminski had the top time in the 400m and placed second to Korn in the 300 hurdles, junior Landen Lee led sweeps of both the 1600m and 3200m, senior Kaiden Sahagun added four points with a second place in the 800m and a third in the 400m, as did sophomore John Forbeswith a second in the 1600 and a third in the 800m, and senior Eric Hiller eased the sting of Lyons' dominance in the throws with runner-up three-point marks in both.
