This article highlights the results of first-round dual as part of the MileSplitCA March Madness Virtual Meet Tournament. Virtual meets are scored based solely on 2020 results using the standard dual meet scoring points format of 5-3-1 for individuals and 5-0 for relays. Athletes are scored in no more than four events. No. 5 GOLDEN VALLEY (SS) vs. No. 28 ROCKLIN (SJ)

Junior Kienan Donovan led a sweep in the throws and Golden Valley's overall depth was able to overcome the sprint prowess of super sophomore Nathan Kent in a 90.5-45.5 virtual meet victory over Rocklin. 

Donovan had the top marks in the discus throw and shot put as Golden Valley claimed all 18 points in the throws. 

Although Kent had the top times in the 100, 200 and 400, earning 15 points on his own, the Grizzlies' depth was able to counter earning the remaining 12 points, led by sophomore Elijha Ellis, runner-up in both the 100 and 200. 

Golden Valley also won both relays and claimed 27 of 35 points in the jumps. 

Next: Golden Valley will face the winner between No. 12 Trabuco Hills (SS) and No. 21 Sherman Oaks Notre Dame (SS).
