No. 3 BUCHANAN (CS) vs. No. 30 LONG BEACH POLY (SS)
The nature of this series, which relies on data for athletes whose teams had an extremely small window of opportunity to compete, leads to results like this where one team competed in two relays-specific meets and the other team's competition included two more standard-events meet.
In this case, the power rankings-based seedings were right on the mark as No. 3 Buchanan easily advanced over No. 30 Long Beach Poly with a score (114-22) that in no way would reflect reality, given both of these elite programs at full strength.
So, yes, the Jackrabbits did win both relays in this virtual and sprint star Anthony Johnson claimed another five-point win in the long jump but the rest was all Buchanan Bears.
Double-winners for Buchanan were senior Ronnie Barrett (800/1600), senior Tamar Archie (110H/300H) and senior Kyler Van Grouw (discus throw/shot put).
Next: Buchanan will be scored against the first-round winner between No. 14 Redwood (CS) and No. 19 Mater Dei (SS).
